Terms of Service

PitKeys ("the game", "we") is a free browser typing-race game. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.

1. Who can play

You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian to read these terms with you.

2. Your account

• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Pick a username that isn't offensive, doesn't pretend to be someone else (a real person, a brand, or our staff), and doesn't use someone else's trademark. We may rename or remove accounts that break this rule.
• One person, one account for ranked play. Don't share or sell accounts.

3. Fair play

Races, typing tests and leaderboards only work if everyone plays fairly. Don't use bots, macros, scripts, auto-typers, copy-paste tricks or anything else that types for you, and don't exploit bugs or try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service. We check results automatically and may remove results, reset stats, or suspend accounts that cheat. See the Fair Play policy.

4. Be decent

No harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, sexual content, or sharing other people's personal information in chat, usernames, team names or anywhere else. You can report and mute players; moderators may remove content and mute or ban accounts.

5. Virtual items

In-game cash, cars, paints, decals, crates, horns, emotes, titles and other items are part of the game. They have no real-world value, can't be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and aren't your property. We may rebalance, rename or change items as the game evolves; we try hard not to take away items players have earned.

6. Things you post

You keep ownership of what you write (chat messages, team descriptions and so on). You give us permission to store and display it inside the game so the features work. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

7. Our content

The game's code, art, sounds, passages and design are ours or used under license (see Credits). Please don't copy them into another product.

8. Independent game

PitKeys is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any other typing game, game publisher, or vehicle manufacturer. All car names, teams and designs in the game are fictional; any resemblance to real products is unintended. Names of other products that appear in race passages are used only to describe them, and belong to their owners.

9. No guarantees

The game is provided free, "as is" and "as available". It may have bugs, downtime, or lost data, and features may change or end. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for anything relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid us to use it (which is nothing).

10. Ending things

You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we'll post a notice in the game. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the new terms.
